Nancy Floyd, juror for the Department of Art’s 2017 Allan P. DeLoach Memorial Prize in Photography, will present a lecture Tuesday, April 11, at 3:00 pm in room 220 of the Ingram Studio Art Center. Floyd, professor of photography in the Ernest G. Welch School of Art & Design, Georgia State University, will talk about her current project, “Weathering Time: What Would It Be Like to Photograph Yourself for 35 Years?” This year the artist will have solo exhibitions of “Weathering Time” at Whitespace Gallery in Atlanta and the CUE Art Foundation Gallery in New York City.
Floyd’s lecture is free and open to the public. The DeLoach Award for Photography will be presented along with the Hamblet and other awards at a reception held from 4-6 pm on Friday, April 14, outside the Space 204 gallery on the second floor of the E. Bronson Studio Arts Center. The awards will be announced beginning at 5 pm.
