Heard Library Hosts Nashville Architecture Edit-a-Thon on Tuesday, October 25

The Jean and Alexander Heard Library is hosting an Edit-A-Thon focused on developing Wikipedia articles about the architecture of Nashville, Tennessee. HART faculty, staff and students are invited to join other faculty and librarians on Tuesday, October 25, in learning and writing about our city and its architects, monuments, and public spaces. The event will be held from 11am to 4pm in Special Collections.

This is an excellent opportunity to learn the basics of Wikipedia editing in a festive, collaborative, thematically focused environment. All are welcome, no experience required. Lunch will be provided. Look for many more edit-a-thon events throughout the year, and a special Conversations on Digital Pedagogy discussion on using Wikipedia in the classroom. The November 7 event is cosponsored by the Center for Teaching, the Digital Humanities Center, and the Vanderbilt Institute for Digital Learning.

For more information, contact Mary Anne Caton, senior consultant for educational and interpretive programs at the Heard Library, at (615) 875-9074.
